Mounting bookshelf speakers

Hi All,
This is my first post and it's a question about my first surround sound system. I'm using the RTi4's as my back surround speakers. Does anyone have an opinion on using the keyholes on the back of the speakers to mount them versus placing on a shelf. I'm having problems finding a shelf deep enough to hold the speakers and would like to use the keyholes if that'll work. Thanks for any feedback.

The keyhole will work just fine. But make sure you put the screw into a stud, or buy some type of drywall anchor.

I have RTi4's that I used a mounting bracket that attaches to the keyhole but allows me to position the speaker at an angel towards the listening area. Haven't fallen off the wall yet!:D

sounds like you have the best of both worlds!!

I use the B-Tech 77 stands for my LSi7's. Work and sound great.
You can see what they look like with my 7's mounted on them by clicking on the quote in my sig.
MichaelMains.............Polk LSi15 (Cherry)
Center............Polk LSiC (Crossover upgraded)
Surrounds.......Polk LSi7 (Gloss Black - wood sides removed and crossovers upgraded)
Subwoofers.....SVS 25-31 CS+ and PC+ (both 20hz tune)
Pre\Pro...........NAD T163 (Modded with LM4562 opamps)
Amplifier.........Cinepro 3k6 (6-channel, 500wpc@4ohms) -
i use the keyholes, too, but as i got a little bit of rattle, i "isolated" (i know, i know) the speakers from the wall by also using something like this:
agear list:
1 down, 4 up.... -
I was looking into those. The keyhole has been working fine, though I may go with something like the B-Tech's so that I can angle them. Thanks for the input guys.
