There's a lot of nut jobs out there that think Elvis is still alive & kicking too!!! Maybe they're all vinyl lovers!!! LOL. Once dead, you're dead. The same goes for people as well as music formats.

The CD is doomed and is a dead-end format, you cannot download an analog wave, go high rez, go vinyl, but go.

Vinyl has never left us. However, for readers who only read mainstream home theater-oriented magazine such as Sound and Vision, it may be news.

BTW, "The Sensible Sound" also featured a turntable on its cover in its current issue....the KAB-modded Technics SL-1200.

LP's seem to have a pretty good copy protection scheme.

This will cause an upward trend in the prices charged by vintage, used vinyl sellers. I just know it.

Yea, and for no real, lasting reason.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

I think they are already too high for new or re-releases. Some of the re-releases on regular vinyl may be the going rate of $15.00 but the vinyl they use really sucks. . . The Beatles, "Abby Road" for instance.

The new vinyl indie stuff is pretty expensive too. But I guess it all evens out when you can go to a Good Will and find gems for 25 cents per record.

The Goodwills around here charge $1.99 for each album. You have to buy a shitload in order to get them for a dollar, or wait until they've sat around for eons till they reduce them to a buck. The good ones don't appear to be sitting that long anymore.

I haggle with the Goodwill and Salvation Army around here in Newark DE. I can usually get them down .25 to .49 each some times three for a quarter if the covers are so so. I guess it might pay someone who is within an hours drive to check them out. . . the Goodwill I recently visited always has at least 12 to 15 boxes of LPs on hand.

The funny thing is after the haggling is over and I make the purchase I always give them an extra $20 . . . you know, the guilt thing!:o

I believe her albums were released on the now-defunct Sheffield Labs label. Certainly audiophile stuff.
