Equipment affected:
Yamaha Rx-V995 as pre
HK PA5800
NSM (M-75) Front mains (2 x 6.5"-2 x 4.5"-1 1"dome)
PSW 505
Klipsch Academy -Center
I have the sub hooked up to the unfiltered line in. Though I have adjustment on the sub, the Yamaha is default to 90hz.
Sould I set the LFE on the Yama to SW or SW and mains? If I set it to SW only but call the mains (large), the sub standby light never goes out, like it's not getting a signal.
If I send the LFE to the SW and Mains, will the <90hz. be sent to the sub?
Suggestions?

Flr, when your 995 does the crossover at 90Hz the sub gets below 90Hz material redirected from speakers set "small" when you use a subwoofer setting of SW only. If you set the speakers "large", then only the speakers get the below 90Hz sound when SW is set and the sub gets nothing(so wouldn't become active)except low frequency effects(LFE) which are occasionally present in 5.1 movies.
Yes, if you instead set SW and Mains, then both the sub and the mains would get the low bass. A better setting is , however, setting the mains "small" and letting the sub handle what it does best in the low bass. If your sub amp is still slow to turn on, you can set the sub output trim on your 995 higher so that it puts out more voltage to "wake up" the sub amp. The volume control on the back of the sub would be lowered in compensation to keep the sub volume the same.
