Very comparable to my Onix XCD88 I had - maybe a HINT brighter.

where is the kitchen sink, me thinks.

Trying to make some lame play on the cliche "everything but the kitchen sink," since TreyVkr3MxStyler2k3 is selling almost all the gear he has accumulated the last year.

Im not selling to much stuff

I just dont have a need for the Cambridge ---

If I dont sell the VMPS - I'll just get a second Larger and go from there - Its a stellar subwoofer. Honestly I just wanted to try the Martin Logan Depth.

And Im pretty sure I am going to keep the Shanling.

So I'm curious how this stands up to a 2910? Pricepoint is lower on average, but I want to say Cambridge is in a different league brand-wise. Am I wrong?

I will say this - this is the best $150.00 dollar CDP I have heard if it comes down to it. Phenominal CDP sound.

I compared my 540 to a Denon 3910 that a buddy had for sale. For HT the 540 was as good or better for both PQ and SQ. I didn't do any comparisons on CD or SACD/DVD-A. Plus the 540 is region free if that matters to you.

Yeah unfortunately, shipping will kill the deal for Michael W --- Canada shipping is never any fun...

Either way, solid DVDP or CDP for a system.

    PM on the way......

EDIT: NM....just realized it's silver, not very fond of silver equip. Trey, just bump this when/if are taking to the bay or 'gon. I'm on the fence because of the color. I'll think on it. All others feel free to snag it.

    See my edit above.......

What's the display like? Does it give good info or is one of those units where every friggin piece of info is on screen? I have a Tosh that has no info on the dispay and it drives me nuts. You can only have the OSD info on or off, I hate it!!!!

    Sid,

Chirs (cstpeter) sent me a pm asking if he can have the Cambridge 540D as he really needs it. I said he could as it would be an extra player for me to have some fun with and then used as a backup or bedroom rig or so on.

So I will pass on to him, however, if anything happens just let me know and I will take care of it, I told him he will need to send the funds to you right away, you should be getting a pm from him.
