Hi Guys,
Can you guys give me some feedback as to if the Denon AVR587 has enough juice to power the below situations:
front: 2 Monitor 50s
rear: 2 R300s
center: CS2
amp: Boston XB4
or
front: 2 Monitor 70s
rear: 2 Monitor 50s
center: CS2
amp: Boston XB4
The other question is when setup the receiver with the speakers, it asked for how far away the speakers are, is that the length of the speaker wires or is that the physical length of the speakers from the receiver?
Thanks all for your inputs.

yes that receiver will power all your speakers ok.. the Polk speakers are pretty efficient.. so you'll be ok with either set up.
When the receiver asks for the distance.. it means how far away the speakers are from you.PolkFest 2012, who's going>?

ah, ok great, because I usually have to crank them up pretty high on the receiver to have some decent sounds, for example the max that my receiver will go to is +5, and usually when watching a dvd (animusic 1 and 2) I have to get it to about -10 range to have some good sounds meaning hearing the full range of the intended sounds, just hoping that it's not weak.
In regard to the distances, I've been configuring it according to the length of the speaker wires, for example, I bought a 20ft Monster cable and cut it in half, each half went into my front speakers to the receiver, when setup I set up as 10ft each as the distance. I take it that I've got it all wrong? and should measure the distance from the speakers to where I would normally sit?
Thanks again.Starter kit:
