Does anybody have one of these? Are they any good? Should I get the Harmony 550 instead? The Harmony 1000 is out of my price range.

Newegg has a great price on the 360 version.

Get the 550 instead. The controllers for the Xbox 360 take care of of all the functions of the Xbox so it is not really needed. $79 at Amazon

I believe the Xbox and 550 Harmony are basically the same remote just labeled differently. I haven't used those models myself but I did have a 880 which I absolutely loved and was a great remote. The 880 can be found for around $120 which isn't too bad considering how capable it is.

IMO you can do better at the 80 oriuce mark. You can grab a 679 for that price if you keep an eye out for sales. I think it's a better remote, but I suppose if you like the style and feel of the 555 better then go for it

Yep. You don't need the official 'XBOX' version. They all work.

If you plan on purchasing the HD-DVD player, it comes with a remote.

We have the HD-DVD for Xbox 360 but end up using the Xbox controller. I use my 550 to change the AVR, Projector, and turn on Xbox 360.

The Xbox 360 remote has a green Media Center button that will power on the 360 and launch the media center connection to a backend computer. Would I be able to do this with the Harmony Xbox 360 remote? 550? 880?

    Thx
