Hey guys,

I'm thinking of re-veneering my Monitor 5's with a better looking wood. Something along the lines of this: http://www.wood-veneers.com/Amboyna_Burl_80-09_jpg.html

Any advice for those of you who have done veneering? It will be my first time and wood isn't cheap, so any information pertaining to it would be appreciated.
Lovin that music year after year.

It is very easy. Glue both pieces. Slap them together, and trim away.
    easy job.
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks

Do I need any primer for the sides or does wood glue do the trick?

I've been looking into it for a bit. This site seems to have a good deal of info:

    http://www.joewoodworker.com/veneering/welcome.htm

This site has a lot of different veneer choices, even copper.

    http://www.veneersupplies.com/

Other then that, I've got nothing useful. I am interested to hear what others experience might be.

You need a metal roller to do the job correctly. A flush cut router bit with a ball bearing makes the job fast, and neat. Bare wood to bare wood is best.

See the link below for a really good guide book for veneering, this book should answer any beginner questions about tools and techniques. I've read it and have bought the tools I'll need, I just need to get the time to work on the speakers.
