LSI15 trouble, please help
Hello,
I am new to this board...
Could any one know what happen to my LSI15 speakers (used as front); one day out of power in the neighborhood, then I realized it's treble is not working any more "no sound", only sound comes from midrange and woofer.
I had a Denon AVR-4800 hook with the pair. Did re-setting all the options of the Denon, but still no treble sound. Could It be blew...Had them for 4 years and 3 months now (warranty for 5 years).
Appreciated

A voltage spike that gets into your speakers will tend to take out either the crossover or the tweeters. Have you checked to make sure the metal jumpers are still in place? If they are not and you have your speaker cables attached to the mid/woof terminals, you would not have any sound from the tweeters. If you have sound from the mid/woof, then it's probably not a receiver problem.DKG999

Hello and welcome.
It would seem as though your tweeters are toast. Contact Polk Customer Service at 1-800-377-7655. They will take very good care of you.

If so, push the resistor back against the circuit board and re-solder it and your fixed. That is what I had to do to my Lsi9's and that fixed them.

Or call Polk and let them do what they do as has already been suggested, since they are under warranty I would not go polking any iron in there.

yes, since the first day, I have always had the metal jumpers in place, and the speaker cable is always connected at the bottom 2 terminals. Right now I only can hear the sound from sub-woofer and the midrange.
Probably something else, I did tried it with my other low end receiver (in other room), stiil a no go. So probably the tweeter toasted, or the cross over itself per someones here post.
I will try to unscrew the screws in the front of the tweeter tonight when I get home and see, hope I am not doing anything wrong.
