I have a good ground because I jst redid it. also I have ran them on 4 gauge wire 8 gauge as well nothing seems to work....

what you are doing is overdriveing you amps i have a alpine recever and i uslay onny turn it up to 18 at the max but it can go up to 34 if i turn it past 18 i get alot of distorshon becues where i have my gains on the amps turn down the gain on the amps and check if you have them set to the right speaker config

If your only turning your HU up to 18..then your not getting the full benefiet of the Preamp on the Alpine. Your cutting it short.
To set the gains without use of an o'scope or DMM... you need to turn your volume on the HU to 3/4 volume> start gains on the amps at 0 and turn it up untill it starts to distort and then turn it down. You should have no extra noise doing this and will not overdrive the amps. Be sure not to use a quiet cd... some are louder than others...us a normal volume one..
by doing this..you will get the full preamp and wont clip it. Most preamps dont have the "non clipping" feature..thus on like alpine that goes to 35... 29 would be 3/4 way....this also leaves room for softer tracks to be turned up a bit passed that.
well..off my soap box for today
peace out
