Favor (Price Check)
I've found a pair of maple Dynaudio Contour 1.3MKII for $1299 at a local shop. They're used, one of the tweeters has small dimples in it, cabinets have small nicks and dings (hardly noticable), and one cabinet has large gouges in the bottom (not visible unless turned over).
They sound great.
Is this a fair price? I don't have an a-gon account that allows me to check prices/history....

From Audiogon:
Dynaudio Contour 1.3 Mk II
New: $2,590
Average Used: $1,270
High: $1,630
Low: $880
Last (April 07): $1,160
For the condition they are in, I would think you should offer less than what they are asking for._________________________________________________

Awesome. Thank you gentlemen.
Unfortunately they are at a clearance center for a retail place (home theater store), and I don't think they're going to flex on the price much if any. I saw them in there last October the first time, and they're still there as of Saturday. From Audiogon:

Well, if they are there since October, I'm sure that you'll be able to get them for less; just show the cash....._________________________________________________

One would think so, but nope. I'll try again, but the guy who works there is a stickler. They have tons of (nice) stuff that just sits there and never gets sold because they're asking too much for it.Well, if they are there since October, I'm sure that you'll be able to get them for less; just show the cash.....

Will they let you take them home to demo them with your system? Seems like a valid request since they're used and easily transported.

I'm sure they would. They also have minty Contour 1.4s for $1900 a pair. If I'm going to go over 1k for the speakers I may just go ahead and get those since I know that is a decent deal.
Thanks again for the Sunfire pre. I hope to be able to actually use it in a month or two! -
Have you considered sda's? I bet russ has a pair or 2 laying around.
