The only RTA 12x manual that I have seen available is for the RTA 12C.
Monitor 5 info is at polksda.com under "monitor reference" and "brochures".

I've got a manual that has 5B listed (with Sl 2000 and 6502). I can scan and send any pages you need. In exchange, you can come up and drop in the new mids and tweets I just ordered for one of my pair of 5s!

I have the plain RTA 12 manual (before the 12B and 12C were produced). I do not have a scanner--were you looking for a spec.?

I've tried to use the "e-mail" option several times on different days but it doesn't come up (message at bottom of screen says "waiting for polk....etc), even after waiting half an hour. But I only have dial-up. If I get the chance, I will try from another computer somewheres else. Sorry about that.

that came with my 12C's. This may in fact work depending on when and what version your 12B's are.

I believe that geppy1 has done exhaustive research into the various versions that polk produced - there were many! You can do a search here for the post in which he detailed this. They sort of went back and forth on woofers/tweeters/circuit boards used. So a 12B could = a 12C. In fact, the circuit boards on top my 12C's are marked 12B.

The manual that we often see for a 12C is actually a 12B manual . It looks like they jamed the C into the print. The how to put it together pictures in the manual are of a 12B as one can see in the pictures. The drivers listed in the manual are for a early RTA 12

Early RTA 12 SN 0000 through around 9000 or so ??? 1978 to 1980 On stands One crossover, no mirror image nor rolled off outside driver. 6500 drivers with gray trim (early) later ones do not have the gray trim. Peerless tweeter HF 1000 from Denmark but sometimes with a 5514___ number on it.

RTA 12B SN 10,000 to around 18,500?? 1981 to early 1984. Two crossover, rolled off outside driver and mirror image. Two different top X over used but cap values are the same. They just changed the type. Fuse in top X over 6600 drivers . Three differenet US made peerless were used ( if you want details let me know)followed by the silver faced SL1000 in very late 1983 ( note the late US Peerless were also called SL1000)

RTA 12C SN 18,300 to around 27,000??? Early 1984 to 1987 Two crossover, rolled off outside driver and mirror image. Two different top X over used but cap values are the same. They just changed the type. Late 1985 the fuse was removed and a polyswitch and resistor added. Early 1984 to late 1985 6600 drivers or 6501s with SL1000. Late 1985 to 1987 6501 drivers with SL2000 tweeters.
