I was looking at a pair of these at futureshop and they sounded great but I dont think I've seen a bigger bookshelf speaker. They were as tall and they are deep.

has anyone used these for 2 channel? what is you opinion of them

A bit bright for music although for a pair they're relatively cheap and easy to drive. Great for rock but not so great for classical music. I found they bottomed out abruptly (again, classical) so a subwoofer would be helpful. Keep in mind I was driving mine with a Yamaha AVR which leans towards bright.

I think they'll be great for a low cost bedroom/office/garage system. I still have mine.

I had a pair I onced used as rears in HT. Nice little speaker for a second room as described above and easy to drive. The LSi9's are BIGGER yet.

LOL I know guys but I spent alot of money on my first hometheater before I was taught more about electronics and I know now I could have had a kick **** system for the same price. SO now I'm looking at every option and have it pretty much narrowed down.

my 2 channel rig will be
    B&W cm7 or 683 speakers
jd801a, JD 1501RC or rb 1080 with rc 1070 for power
    JD 100A cd player

    probably blue jeans cable

with all the help I've had from here this is what I decided on that I was able to hear

I've had a pair of RTi6 and a PSW10 in a secondary stereo system for more than 2 years now. I like them just fine. Never had a problem w/ them 'bottoming out', but then I stick to reasonable listening levels and suppliment the bottom end w/ the sub. They may not be the greatest speaker ever, but they are an incredible value. ;)

    Cheers, Jim

I have a pair of RTi6's and my old Onkyo 777AVR set up for a bedroom system and I have to say I was shocked at the sound you get out of these speakers. Would not be the best high end 2-channel system, but as a second system in a separate room - they rock.

I have been thinking about getting a center and some cheap fx speakers and putting in a low cost surround system in there. (I will wait for some people to firesale their RTi speakers when the new RTiA's come out)

For now - I can say, they are an excellent speaker that would make a very nice non-critical 2 channel system (or moderatly critical home theater)
    Mains.............Polk LSi15 (Cherry)
    Center............Polk LSiC (Crossover upgraded)
Surrounds.......Polk LSi7 (Gloss Black - wood sides removed and crossovers upgraded)
    Subwoofers.....SVS 25-31 CS+ and PC+ (both 20hz tune)
    Pre\Pro...........NAD T163 (Modded with LM4562 opamps)
    Amplifier.........Cinepro 3k6 (6-channel, 500wpc@4ohms)
