This is an Australian band. Someone on another forum turned me on to these guys. They've been around a while but I never saw them until they posted this video of Spiderbait's remake of "Black Betty".

Here is some more info:

The album I like best so far is "Tonight Alright" which has the "Black Betty" song on it and another one I like called "Fu&*en Awesome".

Anyway, check them out. Good stuff!

Oh yeah, just found out that they did a remake of "Ghostriders In The Sky" for the film "Ghost Rider". It's the movie's theme song or something.

    From the Wikipedia entry:
"The band recorded a cover of "Ghost Riders in the Sky" as the main theme for the movie "Ghost Rider", starring Nicolas Cage. A small part of this is played during the movie, and it is played in its entirety as the first song when the movie credits roll."

My friend's band (The Tallest) has covered that song for years. It's rowdy and I love it.

Wish I could get sound at work... but I'll check 'em out when I get home.
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

I think you'll like them. They have a definite punk influence but sound like a mix of punk and southern rock with a dash of speed metal at times. If you want a good mix of their work, get the Greatest Hits album. The album I mention in the original post is, IMO, their best one.

Sounds right up my alley... maybe I'll pick up both. Thanks again for recommendation. Great album cover art, to boot.

edit: From Austrailia, eh? Then my best friend who happens to be from Sydney has probably already heard of them. I think I'll shoot him a line right now.
