Craig's a great player, plays hard, true professional. He'll get his 3,000 hit before long, but his .283 lifetime avarage puts him pretty low on the soon to be list of 27 who have 3,000 hits. How many batting titles? How many MVP awards?

I've always followed the Astros and the Killer B's. I loved Bagwell and Biggio.. Biggio was (and is) one of those gritty players who will do anything to get on base...not afraid to get dirty type and always hustles..

He really should clean his batting helmet though:eek:

More than you ever wanted to know about Craig Biggio including "only player to record 600 doubles, 250 home runs, 2,700 hits, and 400 stolen bases in his career (2005)": http://www.chron.com/content/chronicle/special/07/biggio/statscorner/

Today he announced his retirement at the end of this season and then tonight hits a grand slam to give the astros the lead to the end of the game.

Hey Candy ,at least he's going out in style. Now he can join his best pal Baggs at the golf course. That leaves only Berkman left from the Killer Bees.
*sigh* Oh well opens up room for more young kids like Hunter Pence .

    Speaking of famous baseball trios...
    what were some other one's?

The Nasty Boys of the early '90's Reds come to mind.
Norm Charlton, Randy Myers, and Rob Dibble.
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

That's what Biggio was saying. He doesn't want the fans booing him for being in the line-up instead of someone like Hunter Pence who was a rookie of the year candidate until he broke his wrist this week. They have Chris Burke now who could become a killer b and hopefully bergman's not going anywhere.

Its a nice accomplishment. I don't know him too well, but from what I can tell he looks like the kind of player that you really want on your team.

Another recent trio could be Hudson, Mulder, and Zito with the A's.

T.C. welcome to the forum. I'm in katy so I still haven't made it to minute maid park which is no excuse but I'll use it. The astros have finally won me over after being a life long royals fan especially with their world series run 2 years ago and now the biggio thing. phil garner must be a awesome coach too. that and the royals haven't been impressive since they won the world series. I hope you get to go to the games alot.

I have a friend who has a dog grooming shop in Katy, and thats a very good reason to not go to the games, lol, sheesh the katy freewway is always a mess! I get to about five or so games a year, like you a recent new fan,I was a Ranger fan. I lived about 12 miles fron the Ballpark in Arlington and went to a LOT of games every year and they never won any-thing!! lol! I use to like the Royal back in the 70's-80's. I even went to one of the world searies games when they played St. Louis in '85. I lived in st.Louis at the time and a girl I knew won tickets on a radio show and gave them to me and my brother! very cool. well caio for now Ya'll james
