Polk has a wonderful lineup with their LSI's, and RTi's. They really need to put out the SDA's again. If you took the LSi9s, and turned them on their sides, put a baffle in them, adjust the size of the cabinet, you would have one heck of a nice small SDA. There is no major engineering to do here. It would be so simple it's not funny. I really don't understand why they wouldn't want to do this. I understand that the forum has a strong fallowing of SDA's, but it is probably looked at as a small market. I think there would be enough people out there that would appreciate the technology that I have only seen with SDA. I have heard some real nice speakers in the Hi Fi shops that image very well, but I have never heard anything that really extends the sound stage beyond the speakers like an SDA. Now that I have my monsters built it leaves me desiring a small 2 mid 1 tweeter compact SDA. Where I live I have customers coming in(mostly not mine I share an office with the property owner), and my big speakers sound big even at low levels. If it is a normal level enjoyable to have a conversation at it is still very present up front in the offices. With some small efficient SDA's you would still be able to enjoy the quality of the effect, but not be disturbing. I know some have commented about the surround bar being SDA technology, but it is not Hi Fi. What do you guys think(and gals:) ) ?

Thanks

The search function is not my friend. The market killed them because they were big bulky speakers. They can be shrunk down like the LSi9's on there sides. Do some promoting like Ipod, or Bose. Both products have nothing over any other similar type products. Do a nice commercial with a catch phrase with something like "For Ears That Know". With some good looking couple with wine glasses in hand, in a well decorated room, on a classy glove leather love seat. The company has the money to put it out there. Put adds in boat magazines, Car Trend, or any other mag that doctor, and lawyer types read. Middle class with good taste are sure to fallow. Look how many people jumped on the huge totally impractical SUV train. There is nothing sensible about them for 95% of the people that drive them.

    For Ears That Know:cool:

I am going to make some nice little SDA's with Silver Flute, Sea's, or Vifa woofers. Veneer them, and make them pretty. Maybe I'll make a kit so others can do the same:)

other than the people in here. who else would buy a new version of SDA's? not including the SurroundBar?

seriously... c'mon. if you have the skills to build your own.. and it appears that you do.. build them with whatever parts you like...

Highly doubtful Polk Audio will ever bring back SDA's as we once knew them.
    PolkFest 2012, who's going>?
Vancouver, Canada Sept 30th, 2012 - Madonna concert
