Is Coldplay cool or lame?

I can't decide. Sometimes I like their songs, but then I get really annoyed with Chris Martin's voice or those damn trying-too-hard-to-be-like-Radiohead-or-U2 anthems.

My fiance HATES them, so that's one vote for lame.

    What category is depressing under?

I never really got into their newer album, but their "older" stuff (Parachutes & Rush of Blood) I really liked.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

    Lame.

And the last thing you want to do is agree with T_Unit, so that's two votes for not lame.

In all seriousness though, if you can't make up your own mind about "cool or lame", just lock yourself in a closet now.

I really liked Parachutes, then they lost me. U2 after Joshua Tree, Van Halen after 'Van Halen I', etc.

Coldplay is cool for about three or four songs on any of their CD's, after that.. i wanna kill someone.... Chris Martin's voice drones on and on...and it's damn annoying. ;)

I like them, not crazy about the new album. The piano is my favorite instrument, so I really like some of the rifs. It really depends on your mood, if you want to hear Slayer, do not play Coldplay. 1 vote for not lame.

I hate Martin's wife most of all. She hates America and is just a stuck up ****.

I used to use Parachutes as a good demo album. I like coldplay but for me they're not really a band I can listen to for more than maybe 20 minutes...

    Vote for not lame!

if Coldplay could ramp it up about 1,000% and really hit it hard rocking, they'd be pretty good. but instead, they flop around like a dead fish.. and I actually like em.. but in small doses.

lame is the word of the day to describe Cold Play...

Actually thats not harsh enough. "Royally Sucky" "Nausiating" "Depressing" "Slit My Wrist And Die Music"

    All very accurate over lame.

I've got 2 of their CD and never listened to them, except for when I first got them. So that is an indication that I'm over them. One more vote for LAME.

I'm ok with depressing music sometimes, depending on my mood...Coldplay could cause someone to go over the edge though....I don't mind SOME slower depressing music while I am laying down, but this **** motivates me to shoot myself so I don't have to hear it anymore......Alison Krauss, as beautiful as her voice is, sings depressing **** songs...Not NEAR as depressing as Coldplay, and for some reason, hearing a woman sing that type of song is easier on my mood than hearing some swinging richard sing it.....

Like many bands, I really like them live and never listen to the studio cd's. They are so earnest....if only my daughter would bring one of them home for Thanksgiving....
