This thread was created at Audiogon by a research chemist. He outlines the chemistry and concepts of record cleaning. Very good read.

I read the entire article. It did not discourage me from using any of the four fluids I use in record cleaning so I found it very informative but a bit of overkill. It's akin to that article,"Zen and the Art of Record Cleaning Made Difficult." This was a very informative article but just not practical on a record to record basis.
