Oh man Sweet! Oddly enough, it had absolulty no special start up menu features. Put the disk in and it started the movie. Gotta love BlueRay!

Do you have the standard FMJ? Any PQ comparisons?
No I didnt
I've been trying to buy BR disks that I dont already have movies of (I have around 250 DVD movies now).
I did buy T2 on BR disk because its well... T2.
Its hard for me to compare though because Im watching them all for the first time still on a big HD TV. To me, every movie looks totally different now
I will note that on the 60" HD TV, it looked pretty damn good for an older movie. No pixilation like I would expect.Testing

From what I have read over at AVS, Full Metal Jacket, is considered one of the worst transfers on HD-DVD or BD as far as PQ wise.

Well, considering the damn DVD was a horrible transfer and (AFIK) it was never even released in widescreen, I'm not surprised. For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore... -
I have the SD version, and I can't imagine any PQ improvement since the limitation is with the source. But, I could be wrong.I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

A little off topic, but I was talking to a buddy in the gym yesterday that used to be a Marine. He said he got to meet R Lee Irmy once. They were all gathered in a hall for a lecture of some sort and the MC said "I think you guys will like this speaker. He's a fairly well known Marine." Then the lights went out. They were all like WTF is this??
Then the lights come back on and there he is standing on the stage in full uniform with his DI hat on. He lets out a harty "What the f*** are you ladies looking at? Get on your GD feet!"
He said the place just erupted!polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005
