Drought conditions in North Alabama for a while now, but today brought a little rain and hopes for much more. How's it in your neck of the woods?

Yes and they are considering no fireworks for the fourth due to the conditions.

Of course, there will be a bunch of yahoos who'll set off their own and start numerous grassfires. I used to be volunteer fireman and summer grassfires in full bunkers are tough!

We finally got more than 15 minutes of rain here around Memphis too. It always seems to get to the bluff, that Memphis sits on, and goes north and south.

Yep...we've had some serious "**** floaters" here lately. Sunday night from about 2am till 4am, it rained so hard I couldn't sleep. The front was moving from south to north and guess what direction my bedroom window faces. Yep...south. But it sure is nice to have the rain and get the lakes back up plus, I don't have to water my yard much! The crappy part is the floods in certain areas.

Here it's moving toward drought. The spring rains never really came. And now some stupid fish isn't breeding enough, so they're turning off the pumps that divert river water to the cities. Voluntary water rationing in effect now. But I'm sure some stupid eco-freak politicians would make it mandatory if they could. Huge, expensive water pumps sitting idle to save some stupid fish that can't make it through...
