cheapest way to get that power is hifonics... or find an original mtx 1000D, rated for 2 ohms at 1000 rms, but it'll do upwards of 1600 @ 1.33 ohms

jump on e-bay if your not opposed to buying used. Look for a used PPI, Soundstream, Hifonics or even an Audiobahn(<if that is what you want)

Hifonics Baby. well just to give you a idea. you can get a New HIFONICS XX COLOSSUS II Car Amplifier 3200w Class D for $659.00 + the ride. So you should be looking at a HIFONICS BXI1606D 1600 WATT SUPER D-CLASS MONOBLOCK AMP for around $279.00 + the ride.. <---- that amp is 1 ohm stable!
    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ All on eBay^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

    hope this helped.

Also you can look for some vintage Orion HCCA stuff that makes Bomb power "like a 2100 hcca" but your talking $$$. when you pump 14v. to those amps you start to see what they can do. <--- Limited time basis. but with no problems..

But, the 2100 and 250 HCCA were not stable at 1ohm mono. That was only the 225HCCA...at least when I sold them back in the mid 90's. The big 2 were stable at 2ohm mono only. The ones we "tried" running like that pretty much smoked the power supply. Unless of course, there were versions that came out after those.

Sorry, I sped through the topic. You right they was only staple at 2 ohms. But he could go to the Orion concept amps they was stable at 1/2 ohm but Its hard to get ahold of them.. But lucky for him there are a few on eBay now. but not the ones that put out the big power. Some of the cheater amps from the 90's would be a good find but he would have to run 1 per sub but I would bet that would defeat the purpose.

audiobahn isn't a good amplifier -- its not garbage, but its not a good amplifier. given their price point, they are a waste of money -- were they significantly cheaper they would be a 'good budget amp'.

audiobahn speakers however are fantastic. i adore mine.

i agree with the hifonics post... good stuff... good prices.
