Quick Crossover Rebuild Question

I'm doing my 11TL crossovers. I noticed in many pics here that people appear to glue their parts down with hot glue (clear plasticy looking stuff). Is this special stuff, or does any run-of-the-mill hot glue gun work?

Or, is it something else?

I'll post pics when done.

Regular hot glue is fine;) I have also used foam weather strip tape with good results under my caps. Don't worry about resistors. They can get hot so leave them attached by solder only.
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks
    Ben

You can also use silicone. That's what I've used. It seemed closer to what was on my original (Mirage) crossovers anyway. I also find that it stays flexible and its easier to apply than hot glue.
For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore...

Here they are. Before and after. I went the cheap route on the 33uf capacitor. This job was $36 for both crossovers. Using Solen 33uf would have doubled it. I can pop those in later, if I get the itch. I used the Dayton resistor because Parts Express didn't have Mills in 2.7Ohm. I did use the Mills 2ohm.

They sound WAYYY better. I think these had issues when I got them. I hadn't used them much, but always suspected something. The resistor that was brown on top had ash underneath it. It was toast.

Anybody who can hold a solder iron could do this. Don't be intimidated if you've been thinking about it.
