Quick Question about the SMS-1.

Would it be worth me Buy'n the velodyne SMS-1 to pair with my new SvS pb12+2? I haven't had time to set up the peq on it yet but i have a heck of a deal. New in the box SMS-1 for $422.00 shipped and at that price I'm thinking about it.. Let me know what you guys think. I have to get the Money to the guy tomorrow.

    Others have agreed with Wingnut, 422 is a great price, I just ordered from OneCall @ 598.00 so Im waiting on mine to show up also. I also just ordered a second PB 12 Plus/2 so Im sure the SMS will help to balance everything out sort of speak. But from what its worth I say go for it. Perhaps Ron or Grimster can also chime in since they have used them as well.

    Your comments and evaluations would be very much appreciated by me. I have been asking for feedback [not on this forum, though] on this unit for some time. So far, so good. Don't let me bias your opinion, but I have heard nothing bad about the SMS-1 yet.

    It's on my list, but I've got other things to upgrade, mod and tweak first. Thank you very much in advance!

    Guys I just got delivery conformation and it will be here Wednesday. So it might be the weekend before I can give you some results. also could I use a digital coax cable to connect the SMS-1 to the pre amp? The reason I ask is because the length of the cable that i need is only going to be a Meter and I have a new 1 meter digital coax that I would use instead of having to go out and try'n to find a short Sub cable. Any help on this would be great...

    I just got word that my second SVS Pb12 Plus 2 shipped out to Japan so Im looking forward to that as well when I return from the USA, my SMS is probably there already. I also ordered signal cable sub and video cable for the SMS, so allot of cool things going on at once. Grimster I will definitely PM you when I get it all setup bro(thanks to this guy Im buying more toys). I've been reading allot on the SMS-1, if you go to the outlaw audio website they have an awesome manual on usage and tweaking using the product as well @ http://pdf.outlawaudio.com/outlaw/docs/sms1guide.pdf Congrats again bro and as you can tell a few of us are definitely interested in your thoughts.

    Ok guys I got this thing "SMS-1" hooked up and when there is no audio play'n the sub has a slight rumble that comes and go's. whats up? Interfearance? I've dbl checked everything and no luck. HELP... <--- LoL

    you may need to go to a Velodyne forum to find your answer... i don't think to many people here are familiar with that sub.

    good luck though.. since it's new.. it should not have any kind of rumble.

    I remember having the same thing. It is definitely a setting or input. I am trying to remember..did you go online and look at the Outlaw Audio manual? It is excellent and I am sure you will find it before I remember.

    Ok guys after several rest's "8.9.0." I finally got the rumble stopped. I ended up having to call velodyne and talked to this guy that immediately started telling my it was my sub that was causing the problem. I had to stop him mid sentence when he started talking bad about my "New and beloved" SVS pb12+2.

    So far I got this thing mostly set up but now I'll having trouble finding the best location in the room to place the sub. Every time I move it, I find a new tunning problem... so I'm going to keep the sms-1 in hopes that when me and the wife sell or first "current" house it will be put to better use new our new home. You know its bad when two of the criteria when looking for your new home is it must a at least has one room "perfectly sized" for HT and you must be able to get broad band internet.... <---- LoL

    I have the SMS-1 and the PB12+2 also...keep the SMS-1 and play around with the manual eq part and once you get the hang of it you can dial in flat response. Do not use the auto eq on the SMS.
