She's intriguing like a rotten corpse.

Conceptual art is a joke. It's acting weird and expecting people to get something out of it. Look at me, I'm doing something out of the ordinary, and not smiling!
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

in the same way that experimental music is all, universally, awful? and all artwork that doesn't fall neatly into established categories is disgusting?

someone had to try jazz and impressionism before it was the norm.

Modern art is seen as psuedo intellectual highbrow crap by many but sometimes, if you look deeper, you can actually find something beautiful. I am not at all familiar with Yoko's work but it sounds interesting at least.

Absolutely, you can find beauty wherever you look, and I'm sure there are "new-age" artists out there who create some thought provoking stuff. Everything I've seen of Yoko is just, to me, "different for the sake of being different." Her "music" on some of the Plastic Ono albums was just her screeching, literally screeching, off-key. Where's the art in that? If you like it, more power to you, art is as subjective as it gets, but, to me... art is something pleasing to the senses, not just different.

I know what you mean about screeching. When my roommate plays the Sugar Cubes I cringe.

Great record, but Yoko's voice hits my ear like a power drill. It's painful.

Officer Wingnut, you finally talked to me. I'm honored.

Thanks for the RS link where it looks like I can listen to the album without buying it. I think I'll have to register since my Yahoo! Music subscription expires in tomorrow.

    Awww shucks!:p

Honestly I have never really listened to them. I just heard the noise when my Roomie played it and begged her to play something else. So I guess I have not really given them a fair shot.

Ha Ha!! I guess "noise" is a fair description. Sometimes I just have a hankerin' for noise:D

If Yoko and Micheal Jackson had a kid it who would look like? Look at the 2 of them. they look kinda the same. Sorry, just clicked on the link and seeing her mug reminded me of MJ, which I thick is a wack job, but wait so is Yoko, also IMO. IF the kid looked like both of them they would fight and say it has my nose, or my cheeks....... if that was the case it would be Yoko's no if it looked like the mail mans, or had a bushy afro it would be Mike's(afro comment as of '70's MJ). Sorry for going off topic.

I saw a living arrt piece when I was in college where a guy stood with his legs apart and a woman smashed him in the nads with a bible. First thing I thought of was "they're doing 5 shows, poor guy"
