You would be better off building a pair of speakers using old sneaker boxes.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

The name did trick me I was thinking it was a typo or something. I have seen the white van before someone trying to sell my dad a pair of acoustic responce speakers about 10 years ago. Thanks for the help

Yes, these are definitely C-R-A-P. Like Doro said, and to add to it...use the sneaker boxes with 8 male rats and one female. The sound from THAT would sound better!

Congrats on asking here before you went out and bought them. Too many people have fallen for the kirsch / theater research / white van scam.

Pardon my ignorance, but I've never heard of the white van scam before. Is this a widespread problem?

There are a ton of people trying to sell speakers "NIB" with claims they retail for thousands, even with fancy websites and brochures to backup these false claims when the product is actually total junk. A lot of the sales are made by guys in vans claiming it's overstock and they don't want to return it to the warehouse so they'll basically get what they can get for it. These scams / sales occur everywhere and it's spread accross canada + the states.

My brother-in-law just fell for this. He called to ask me about them after he'd already made the purchase. I'd never heard of "Kirsch", but after he told me the purchase story, I knew he'd been suckered.

I received a free pair of digital technology carpeted beasts a few years ago. They made awesome party speakers, but sounded terrible and were pretty harsh with their horn tweeter. Sadly, they were what actually got me into audio and I liked them at the time, but I had no idea what I was in store for and have since moved on... when I get a garage of my own they'll make it in there assuming I don't have anything else to put there.
