They already did, it's called the Surroundbar.

As far as an entire line, the used market is flooded with them. ;)

Footprint reduction and wives bitching about big 'ol speakers, along with the young crowd who don't really give a damn about great sound.

That's a very condensed version of my twisted answer.

Jim........we need to smack you, boy!:p

This thread, which also l inks to this thread and this thread, discuss it in great detail. Have fun!

Also, a thread with this very title has been created, probably many times... :)

Ok my heart skipped a beat and then my hopes were dashed in about 2 seconds :(

I have been wanting a set of small SDAs that are compact, shielded, and work well in the nearfield.... and I have been wanting them ever since I knew what Polk SDA was.

As far as the market being flooded... that may be true for some cases, but most of the ones on ebay take a LOT of work to fix up, and many are older revisions that aren't going to sound as good as the newer ones even when fixed up... the people with the well cared for, modded, updated SDAs, are the people that aren't going to be selling them.

So, the real question is what would the new line go for? Assuming they are not mass market quality.
