the test CD for the Bose Wave Music System is actually pretty awesome... it was recorded with far less compression than any commercial CD, and has a great mix of awesome music... it's only about 10 minutes long, but they're very valuable minutes (i think).

naturally, though, it's kinda hard to find this disc, and so barring that, dunno...

Cool...I'll check Amazon. I'm supposed to get a DTS Test DVD as a promotional item from the purchase of my line conditioner.

Maybe I didn't state my question clearly enough, though. I wanted some regular musical CD's that were formatted really well that test the range of your system.

    Hmmmm. . .

I usually will pop in Dire Straits (money for nothing), Hotel California, some Jack Johnson stuff, etc. on my 2-channel rig for some demo action.

For HT, I pop in Eric Clapton DVD or Phil Collins DVD. The audio sounds awesome in both stereo and 5.1 DD/DTS on those.

AP, I'll suggest some CDs that have wide dynamic and frequency ranges that'll give your system a good workout and have exciting music as well: The Planets ; Rite of Spring ; Swan Lake ; Carmina Burana . Tower has these on sale at really good prices and those four would run just over $20 with free shipping.

Before I installed my HT...I listened to the Audio DVD called Crossroads on my old setup...It was a host of some of the best guitarist in the world. John Mayer is an amazing blues guitarist. His performance was eye opening for me. I totally forgot about this Audio DVD...but again...I'll have to borrow it.

I'll have to start saving for some of this stuff:)
