I have a question that hopefully someone that has experience can help me with.

Pre-Processor : Arcam AVP700
HT Amp: Rotel 1075 5-Channel Amp
Stereo Amp: Dodd Tube Amp (From Russman.. )

If I want Rotel to handle HT job, and Dodd Tube Amp for stereo, how do I set them up with 2 front speakers? Should I look for a speaker switch or selector? Any idea or recommendation?

I rarely use HT, but it is hard to think about getting rid of them..

Thanks.

Do you use a pre for your 2-channel system or do you use the Arcam?

I use Arcam AVP700 as a preamp. The point is I don't want the tube amp to handle the front speakers in HT mode unless I have to..

    Adcom, Bryston

These folks make fine speaker selectors.

The adcom switch works for having one source, and multiple speakers. It is an ohm compensating switch that can not be used to switch sources.
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks

I have thought of this as well because I will be in the same boat soon. This was what I thought I was going to do but was going to ask about it as well...anyway here goes.

Would it be acceptable to use 1 set of binding posts on the speakers for the HT amp and use the other set of binding posts for the 2 channel amp? Keeping the jumpers on the posts of course.

    Thanks,
    Mike

edit after reading a little better: sorry not the same situation as I would have separate preamps for HT and 2 channel as well

Haimoc I cannot think of a way around having the pre accessable so that you can change RCA's
