Fairly witty retort, but check out the Flea Market rules for more insight. Other than that... welcome to the Forum.
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

The speaker terminals are vertically aligned in the later models of GFA 555 and horizontally in the earlier versions. Although their performance is similar, the circuit boards are a bit different. All things being equal, the later version (with vertical terminals) is a better buy because its fuses are readily accessible.

I bought an ADCOMgfa555 w/ the smooth face and handels.I call it the industrial model.I cannot tell any difference beteween newer or older models except I did cal Adcom out in AZ. and they told me that the rackmt 555s that were not addd on kits can not be converted to the ribbed style face you see on the mkII.Mine was bought sight unseen from Audio Classics for $300 w/ shipping included which came pristine and rapped and protected like something of that size and should be, and have had nothing but enjoy ment from this amp. It can playall day w/o getting hot and would recommend this to anyone.....LW

I wish I could score a 555 amp for my subs , I read all the old posts (thanks for the info) .
I am also looking at at mosfet 5500 power specs about the same but I am concerned that it runs warm , I had a 5300 it sounded VERY good but it ran warm , I wonder if the early gfa1 is the same inside as a 555 ?
yes the case is smaller but the force feed cooling fan cuts size .
Leftwinger57 thats a great amp dont sell it unless you have no choice !

The 5500 will run warmer than the 5300 and no, the GFA 1 is not the same inside as a 555, different amps.

As a lot of you may already know....they now have a modern GFA 555se ( special addition) They have one on Canuck Audio Mart with an asking price of $700. I wonder how popular that one will be ? Looks just like the original 555 from the outside.

Chiming in years later I was also a confused w/ the rack mt and the regular shelf style. The only info I got from Adcom out in AZ.was 1. The amp outdated the tech but he was sure that my model was purpose made as a rack mount and not an add on as some have thought. He also said it might have been called the Pro 555 but there is no evidence of this .Mine has the thinner handles and after seeing those thick ones I would have prefered those just as a more hunkier look. Sound wise I couldn't be happier and is just pumping out those 200wpc maybe, I never pushed them that hard.As a footnotethe amp has never even been warm to the touch after all day of use and never have any of the warning LEDs come on.For a $300 used piece of 2chl gear I would tell anyone to go for it .
