Raw Audioquest Speaker Wire

Anyone know where (link) I can get the best deal on raw unterminated Audioquest Type 2 and Type 4?

Any other suggestions for a more inexpensive raw wire I can use? I have some nanners and I need atleast a pair of 8ft raw runs.

http://hcmaudio.com/hcm.asp

This is one of the few places I've found that sells raw AQ. Audio advisor stopped selling it.

I'm also considering Carnare Star Quad which is about 1/2 the cost of AQ. Any comments are welcome. I'm looking to stay in the $60-75 range for these DIY cables.

TIA

I got some unterminated AQ speaker cable off sleezebay. I think it was SA-20 or something like that. Works well enough. Didn't notice a negative change going from Type-2 to SA stuff.

Check Ebay. I have seen it pop up there without the fancy braid covering it.
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks

Thanks for the replies so far, but I really want to stay with a "store" rather than an individual but I will check out e-bay and see if there are any good deals.

AQ stuff, like you said, isn't widely sold by the foot unterminated.

I think Star Quad stuff would be pretty good, going by other Canare products I've seen. Also, you can probably get new or nearly new terminated cables from Signal Cable that would be in your price range. Maybe Frank would just send you some unterminated ones for even cheaper.

I checked at Signal Cable and they don't list unterminated wire. An 8ft pair of Signal w/ nanners is about $85 + shipping and I already have some very nice nanners. Certainly a good deal *if* I didn't already have my own terminations.

If you call Frank, I'm sure he can swing you a deal on a pair of unterminated cables. I've actually seen a few pairs show up on Audiogon from time to time.

Not sure if you know about this place or not. but Markertek sells the canare 4s11 star quad for about a $1 a foot. can't beat that anywhere I've found.

Also, Club Polk's own Dave Shepard sells DH labs products (he's a dh labs dealer). You could see what he can get bulk T-14 speaker wire for.

Pops up on audiogon, too. I got a pair of 6 footers for $35... can't remember if it was type 2 or type 4. Threw on some spare bananas and they work great for the subs on my gallos.

Forget about Canare. Go Audioquest or go home.

I agree, but is type 4 twice as good as type 2? $2.50 vs. $4.50 per foot. I think type 2 will do nicely since I'll be upgrading from std. 12g Acoustic Research zip style chord.

For you length, it should be fine... just bear in mind that Type 2 is 17awg, so you gotta keep the lengths down.
