These threads never seem to catch on and stick but here goes another one.

Out of all your music, name one or two that hit you in the heart or gut and means a lot to you spiritually or emotionally like it was sent from above or for no reason at all other than it moves you in some way.

Grover Washington Jr - Breath of Heaven http://www.amazon.com/Breath-Heaven-Jr-Grover-Washington/dp/B000002C23/ref=sr_1_1/104-4001826-7787141?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1181622893&sr=1-1

Sarah McLachlan - Wintersong http://www.amazon.com/Wintersong-Sarah-McLachlan/dp/B000HBKCDC/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/104-4001826-7787141?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1181622177&sr=1-1

Both are holiday cd's that don't sound like holiday cd's

178 reviews on Wintersong. What the heck is that all about. You can tell I don't shop online for music very much. These are both thrift store finds.

I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

We have the Sarah McLachlan - Wintersong CD, and I gotta tell ya that it is excellent. A VERY good recording and some really nice music. There is a Noel interpretation that has a jungle beat to it and it is awesome. Highly recommend.

    Duksbak is wise; great choices.

I would like to add all the other Tool albums, Alice In Chains - Dirt, and A Perfect Circle -13th Step.

This isnt that easy with so much good stuff out there, but for me.

Pink Floyd - The Final Cut

    Alice In Chains - Unplugged

    Tracy Chapman - New Beginings

And even though its not an album, Blue October's Hate Me, gets me all the time.

If you're looking for bracingly fresh but still appropriate holiday music, Bruce Cockburn's album "Christmas" is (IMNSHO) fantastic. Sounds good, too.

As to soul-rending, life-changing music... well, lots and lots. I'll have to get back to you on that.

I didn't really know Santana when my friend through in a cassette on the way to a bar, and it just blew me away. From that point on Santana's been on the top of my list.
