Does anyone else here get logged out before they are done typing there post? If I spend to much time typing (a few minutes), when I hit post, it says I can't because I'm not logged in. Is there a setting I'm missing?

Sounds like a browser problem to me. Your cookies are getting cleared.

I can't tell you the last time I logged into CP. Both computers I use are always logged in.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

The same thing happens to me, it seems if I don't click on something for more then ten minutes or so I get logged out automatically.

Before I post I copy the text now to make sure I don't lose it. Recently I have been opening a new window and clicking on new posts just to make sure it still registers me as being logged in.

    I use firefox.

    same here

If I get logged off after typing a message and trying to post it(the screen to log in comes up after I hit the post message button), I just sign back in and the message gets posted.

I use both IE and firefox

Make sure that you have remember me checked or it will log you out after a certian time of inactivity. I guess writing a post doesn't count.

hmm... if fireman's suggestion doesn't work for those with the problem, i'd be interested to know what systems are experiencing it (OS and browser type)...

Never had this problem with either firefox or IE, but then again I frequent the forum enough to justify using the remember me feature. I don't like using it very often for security but then again it's a forum so there isn't really much to lose.

In the meantime, type your long posts in word and then ctrl+c ctrl+v over.

I do that with all of my long work emails so I don't accidentally hit send on an incomplete email...

I get that too. Happens on IE6 if you leave the browser window open for 10 minutes or so.

Do like Fireman said, it works. The "remember me" box next to where you enter your log-in name. Check the box before you log-in.

Yep, started awhile back. I have to constantly log in. I use to never have a problem.

I noticed that checking the box or leaving it blank does not make a difference.

At least it gives me a message. I then just right click and copy what I typed and then log in and paste. I just didn't know if it was just me.

Well that means you're REALLY **** and I apologize. PM Matt Polk and tell him you're not parting with any more cash for Polk stuff till he gets this **** squared away. THAT ought to do it.

Simple fix. Log back in and continue, I have never lost what I was typing.

Hit submit when done. Done deal.

Depending on your browser security settings, you may need to add www.polkaudio.com to the 'trusted sites' list.

In IE 7 - Tools, Internet Options, Security, Trusted Sites, Sites

The add to Trusted Sites did not work.

Am I doing this correctly? See the attached picture. Thanks!

    http://www.polkaudio.com

Type that exactly, and remove the 'https', the Polk site is not a secure server.

(and you still need to check the 'remember me' box when loggin in)

When I type http://www.polkaudio.com, an error message pops up stating that only secure servers can be added or something like that...

Look at your jpg, uncheck the checkbox to require https.

Same **** here, but hitting two extra buttons after a long post ain't enough for me to complain about. (I have user name and password saved, so it takes about 2 seconds).

My password is very long. But I'm not complaining about it - I just want to figure out why this happens in certain browsers/computers/etc.

If there is a definitive solution I would like to know about it.

    Thanks!

I have no idea, I'm not computer savvy. BTW, I wasn't saying that you were complaining, or if it was implied, I apologize. If your password is long, could you save it in the cookies or whatever so you didn't have to type it in everytime?
