Next week in Tulsa should be interesting to see how this time capsule held up.

Wow. Now that's something! I'd love to attend that.
However, I think they ought to wait at least another 50 years, if not 100. I mean, 1957. Yeah, that's old, that's classic, a lot of great, desirable collectibles from then. However, it's not THAT long ago. If we were to dig it up in 2107, THEN it'd be quite an event, I'd imagine. Something created so much farther back would create much more curiousity.George Grand wrote: »

It was a keep up with the Joneses thought. OKC buried a time capsule in '57 to be opened this year for Oklahoma's Centennial so Tulsa did them one better.

I got a kick out of them putting oil and gas in the hole, thinking that we might be using something different to power our vehicles today.......oh yeah, don't forget the tranquilizers!!!HT Optoma HD25 LV on 80" DIY Screen, Anthem MRX 300 Receiver, Pioneer Elite BDP 51FD Polk CS350LS, Polk SDA1C, Polk FX300, Polk RT55, Dual EBS Adire Shiva 320watt tuned to 17hz, ICs-DIY Twisted Prs, Speaker-Raymond Cable

That is pretty funny...Maybe they will let someone "test" those tranquilizers out...:D -
I think they could get more press if David Copperfield or David Blaine was inside the car when they unearthed.:cool:HT Optoma HD25 LV on 80" DIY Screen, Anthem MRX 300 Receiver, Pioneer Elite BDP 51FD Polk CS350LS, Polk SDA1C, Polk FX300, Polk RT55, Dual EBS Adire Shiva 320watt tuned to 17hz, ICs-DIY Twisted Prs, Speaker-Raymond Cable

I love how music can brighten up a bad day. -
Just got the word today, they unearthed it to see what they are up against and the tomb and car has filled/covered with 3 foot of muddy water. No telling what the real condition or worth of the car will be.
Looks like a bust to me. I guessed noone planned for sprinkler systems.....HT Optoma HD25 LV on 80" DIY Screen, Anthem MRX 300 Receiver, Pioneer Elite BDP 51FD Polk CS350LS, Polk SDA1C, Polk FX300, Polk RT55, Dual EBS Adire Shiva 320watt tuned to 17hz, ICs-DIY Twisted Prs, Speaker-Raymond Cable

The water was above the tires in the video I saw on my local news. There is evidence of the vault being completely full of water at some time in the past..........

When exactly did Chrysler kill-off the Plymouth division? Just curious.
-
Plymouth ended in 2001. I believe the last year they were sold, only the Neon was available.
For about five years prior, they only had 4 cars in the lineup, the Neon, Prowler, Breeze, and the Voyager. -
I think that is the same model used in the movie Christine.
Similar, Christine was a '58 Plymouth Fury, this car was a 57' Belvedere
Well, if nobody followed up with this, it was a rusty mess. What a shame...

That'll buff right out.Ludicrous gibs! -
It almost seamed that all the chrome and stainless trim would clean up nicely, but the rest of the car looks to be a total loss. I bet it ends up a Barret Jackson and Scottsdale on the chopping block and it fetches a pretty penny but they would have to throw in the Schlitz beer to put it over the top.
I would hope they didn't let the beer get hot, because I would bet it would still be good due to the ground temp being a constant 55 deg. and if they would have thrown it in some ice that could have been one heck of a celebration then. LoL
