why did you choose the CD plaayer you have in your system?

    I'd heard one of Matt Ankers (sacdmods.com) mods on a lower end Sony player and wanted the modded version of the Sony SCD-555ES. It's performance, IMHO, is on par with players MUCH more expensive.
