What can I expect from the rti12
When used with a 140wpc AVR only I ask since I have no space for an additional amp Thanks. Jerry

It'll work, but don't expect to be impressed by the sound quality...HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50 LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub

Ditto..
What kind of AVR is it? Not all AVRs are created equal. Does it have pre-amp outputs? Some mono amps come in fairly small sizes, Outlaw M200 come to mind.Proud SOPA Member since 2005! -
Pioneer VSX-84TXSi has pre-outs.

I have my RTi12s singing like a bird using Outlaw monoblocks. Space was an issue for me as well. Ease up the load on that AVR and buy yourself 3 M2200 monoblocks, they are compact but yet they are heavy and of good quality.Shoot the jumper.....................BALLIN.............!!!!!

I bought the older M200's used on audiogon 375.00 for 2. These are very small and pack a big punch.Michael

Personally I wouldnt even try to drive the bottom end of the tower with only 140w... Those 3 midbass drivers eat power like california in the summer.Sharp Aquos 32d62u

what is a recommended wattage bob? curious as i am about to buy these

If you REALLY want to hear what they are capable of, get separate amplification of no less then 200wpc @ 8ohms.
2 Outlaw Monoblocks will do quite nicely.
This will enable you to purchase a less expensive receiver with preamp outputs.Marantz AV-7705 PrePro, Classé 5 channel 200wpc Amp, Oppo 103 BluRay, Rotel RCD-1072 CDP, Sony XBR-49X800E TV, Polk S60 Main Speakers, Polk ES30 Center Channel, Polk S15 Surround Speakers SVS SB12-NSD x2 -
can the csi5 take 300w no problem? I would like to run my L/R/C off seperates and let the receiver just power the rears
-
You should be ok. What amp are you running? 300wpc @ 8ohm is a big boy.Michael

Thanks for the answers guys.. I am in the process of building a new house and designing my HT setup..
Currently i plan on the following
Onkyo tx-sr805
Polk RTI12 fronts
Polk CSi5 center
Polk FXi5 Backs/sides (backs first sides later) Is there a in wall comparable to these?
SVS PB12-NSD
I really wanted to go the LSi15 route but the added cost of the LSiC and LSiFX is steering me away. Unless i get a good deal..
As for an amp I may go the pro audio route until I can get a good 5 or 7 channel unit.. They are not cheap. -
well i just ordered the rti12's and csi5... they will be in the box for 4 months while my house is being built... So now i have 4 months to figure the rest of my gear out..
