I'd like to know what's the difference between "tape out" and "preamps" on the back of a receiver, and if "tape out" can be used for a external amp. Worse case scenario, I can just use my Zone 2 preamps(analog only:rolleyes:) till I get a real tuner.

TIA!

Found my answer. Now I'd like to know, how come most of the 2 ch. stereo receivers I've looked at don't have digital inputs?

....'cause most 2ch sources have built in digital to analog converters.
