center for rti10
I have a set of rti10s and I am wondering what will be decent additions for a center channel with these? I am not looking to break the bank and pick up the csi5.
Thanks.
Thanks.

then the Csi3 would be the next logical choice.
I think the Csi3 can be had used for $100, and maybe $150 - $200 for the CSi5.

Whats up with the cs225 cs245 series? What makes them different than say the csi3/5 series?

Can't seem to find those models on the Polk web site. If I had to guess the difference would be the tweeters. Each speaker line Polk makes has it's own tweeter so they are all timbre matched. For your fronts I would at least get the CSi3. That way your front sound stage is matched.AVR: Elite VSX-21TXH

Not hijacking this thread, but am I also missing out by having the older CS350 instead of the CSi5? Thanks in advance.Regards - Gaz from the land of Oz

the newer RTi series tweeter is drastically different from the older lines. therefore the older centers like the CS245, cs350 etc will not be a timbre match. where previous RT and RTi lines you could mix and match and it would be close enough, the newer line doesnt get along as well.
the RTi10 is a great speaker, especially for home theater. just being honest here, they deserve nothing less than the CSi5 to 1) be timbre matched and 2) match the size of soundstage of the RTi10.
a CSi3 would work, but donr underestimate the imortance of a center that will keep up with the rest of the front soundstage. NEVER chince on the center. I've made that mistake in the past, never again.Living Room 2 Channel -

This is the way to go. Most of my gear is used and most of the vets of the fourm will tell you it's a great way to get what you want at a great price. Buying from a fellow member is, for the most part, a safe way to buy.Michael

I can't imagine a Csi5 would cost too much. I sold my Csi3 for $110 shipped almost a year ago. I picked up a CS2 for $112 shipped. The Csi5 would be just marginally more.
Put a WTB thread out, make sure you state where you live, what color you'd prefer, etc. Someone will chime in with a CSi5 for sale.Stereo Rig: Hales Revelation 3, Musical Fidelity CD-Pre 24, Forte Model 3 amp, Lexicon RT-10 SACD, MMF-5 w/speedbox, Forte Model 2 Phono Pre, Cardas Crosslink, APC H15, URC MX-950, Lovan Stand

I've been pleased with my csi-3 to date. I know it's a bit small in comparison to the 5, but the WAF was much higher on the 3 b/c of those size differences.2007 Club Polk Football Pool Champ
