Although I am not in the target demographic, I am a big fan of the Firefly series and the Serenity movie. Lately, I have been demoing the new receiver for family using the battle scene (#15) from Serenity. It lasts several minutes before Serenity crashes to a landing with pieces of metal flying off. It rattles the rafters. This is the only DVD I have, that I know of, where all the dialogue is through the center with none in the fronts. I highly recommend this movie for some noisy action.

And ya gotta love the line, "You can't stop the signal, Mal."

you might need to check that scene number

I never saw Firefly buy I do like Serenity. Especially the Parliament Character. Some great one liners from him. I would love to see him hang out with Riddick and debate.

"I am going to show you a world without sin.

I'm not a huge sci-fi fan but I LOVED Firefly. Huge shame it was cancelled.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

Love the movie. I might have to review it with the new SVS in the house.

    Riddick vs. The Operative

We can take lines from those movies and create the dialogue:

Riddick: "Your first mistake was taking the job"
Operative: "Secrets are not my concern, keeping them is"
Riddick: "My Teacup, I will kill you with my Teacup"
Operative: "I am a monster, I have no misconceptions about it"

Riddick: "I like your toenails, where do you get the done?"
    Operative:"The Mall"
    .....

Neil, you have HD-DVD? I just watched this last night with several neighbors who had just finished Firefly and had not seen the film. By far some of the best Sci-fi todate. The HD-DVD is fantastic.
    If...
Ron dislikes a film = go out and buy it.
Ron loves a film = don't even rent.

HDTV, not HD DVD. Some of the plots in Firefly are a little goofy IMO, but the dialogue is some of the funniest ever. The operative in Serenity (Chwetel) has really been in a lot of movies since....Mal/Nathan's big gig was Slither.

It's a character-driven series - the plot is secondary to the interactions between characters.

"Shiniest show in the 'verse". George Lucas should have hired Josh Whedon to complete the Star Wars saga. I loved the Zoom added to silent space.
