Help with the CSi5 please

There is a cruel irony here. I just got in a used CSi5 from a reputable audio dealer that also has online sales. The pictures of how the box arrived are below. UPS. The speaker was wrapped in several layers of bubble wrap (I don't mind that so much, though I know many do). Then it was placed in a box about twice its size filled with large peanuts. Thus, one third of the top had nothing in it but peanuts and they obviously had settled...and spilled out the side hole. As the UPS guy was getting back in his truck, he yelled for me to be careful because there was a hole in the box...yeah, both sides! Did they spear it? The grill has some very minor damage. I planned to invert the speaker since it is on the floor, but it has some glued for life rubber feet.

My question, if you read this far. I knew this had bi-connections. But there is no jumper. Do I just connect the lower posts? I am about to run a DVD with a lot of center channel stuff. How best do you test just the center. Disconnect fronts?

You can bi amp it or run 14 gauge wire between upper and lower post. red to red and black to black, then plug into either or top or bottom post.

Thanks. After hooking it up with only one set of posts, I realized something was serious wrong and connected with heavy speaker wire as suggested. See, being on the board has done me some good. This is one big speaker. I moved it up to the shelf right under the HDTV and had to move the CDP out of the system. The DVD went on the floor under the shelves (only two shelves). The wife will likely not be happy. The sound is great...especially now that it is off the floor.

Congrats Let me know if you like the CSi5 better or worse then the Monitor 5. By the way, upgrading to RDO194 will really improve the sound of the Monitor 5's.

On my list after vacation...for one pair of my 10s as well. And I need new mids since I got the damaged one with the last 5s I bought. I have the 5 on center of my downstairs system (the Rotel stuff) and I think I overhwhelm it at high volumes. I find I need to throttle back a bit. I have 10s and 7s for fronts and surrounds. The CSi5 sounds like it will be a good fit for the Monitor Silver 6s I am using upstairs. I have 5s as surrounds there. It's Polk. It's all good (except for the silvers).<---the silvers are very good, just not polk.

Set up your system for distance away from you and use a db meter to do the volume adjustments for each speaker and that will even things out. The db meter makes a big difference because even if you think you have the distances right the room acoustic change how loud a speaker can be or not be.
    Have fun.
