my high end system. one speaker, am radio, phono. if needle goes,replace with a nail. if tube goes,replace with new tube. sound? sounds like crap,but no expensive cables to replace. this is a keeper for sure.

You need to re finnish the outside with seven coats of clear.
Change all the stock wires with larger gauge and replace the nail with a number 4 knitting needle and you should notice a huge difference.
other than that I would not change a thing.
