Hiya. Newbie here. After 15 yrs in hibernation, I brought out a pair of SRS2s that I had bought in 1986. (I was 5 years old, more (ahem) or less.) They sounded great back then and they did again...briefly. No problems were detected when I was playing pop, r&b, etc., BUT when I threw on some opera, I heard crackling and other crap on demanding vocals coming out of one of the two tweeters in the left spkr. I guess that means that this tweeter is dying, if not dead. QUESTION: How do I go about replacing this tweeter? (Is it still being made, or are we talking auctions, etc.?) Any help would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. The tweeter is a silver dome (black plate, seems like metal, but could be plastic) SL-2000.

call pok cust. serv and ask for the replacement tweeters (they are better IMO)-- OR, post in this this forum a WTB SL-2000,,OR you can find them on E-pay,,,if you decide not to upgrade,,then the safest place to buy them would be here,, good luck and enjoy.
JC approves....he told me so. (F-1 nut)

    Thanks for the info, George.
If I go the new/better tweeter route, I guess I'll have to replace all four tweeters. How much do tweeters cost? (It's too late to check with Polk today, and I'd like to know ASAP so that I can relax, or not, as the case may be! I've spent more money in '07 so far than in the past several years combined!)

I believe that the RDO replacements are 48.00 each,,(mention that you are a CP member to receive the discount),otherwise you should be able to pick up a sl-2000 for 20-30 bucks.
