If youre wanting louder, get a 2nd 12. More cone area = more volume.

I don't want to hijack the thread, but I have a question. If I buy the SR6500 just for teh front, do you reccommend only one 12 inch SR sub, or 2 SR 12 inch subs, or can I go with MOMO with little sound difference? Mostly I just want to know how many subs you guys recommend. SQ is of the utmost importance.
My system (thanks to everybody for the help)
    One pair Polk SR6500 comps
    One Polk SR124DVC sub
    One Pioeer Premier 880PRS HU
    One Memphis belle 16MCH1300 amp

if sq is penultimate, that's what the SRs are for, no question about it. 1 or 2 subs is up to how much volume you need, and how much you want to spend on power (pretty much).

there is an sq advantage to multiple subs once you get to ~10 dB of their maximum spl, but doubling the number of subs only mitigates this by 3 dB. the question is, therefore, are you willing to pay for and install (and power!) two subs instead of one for what will be - to _most_ people - marginal gains? sup to you.

Allright, if I can find the cash, I'll get two. Why is it only 3 db, not 5 db?
