I'm extremely pleased with my LSi setup, but I've got a question about the speakers:
What is the expected engineered lifespan of the LSi speakers? I know there are many variables that play into this equation, so allow me to fill in some of them -
a) temperature an average of 78 degrees year-round
b) no direct sunlight
c) average usage of 832 hours per year at "ordinary" sound preasure levels
d) runs on 100 high-current watts per channel
Anyone have any ideas?

Do you hear that buzzing noise?

Let's see I bought some Polk RTA-11t's in 1986 and when Opus left my house (last Xmas) with them (he bought them, didn't steal them) they looked and sounded brand new with the exception of the cheesy bases which were just starting to seperate at the corners. I'd say if they are well taken care of and not abused you could get 30-40 years or more out of them.
H9"Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience. Measurements can provide a measure of insight, but are no substitute for human judgment. Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? The subtleties of music and audio reproduction are for those who appreciate it. Differentiation by numbers is for those who do not".--Nelson Pass Pass Labs XA25 | EE Avant Pre | EE Mini Max Supreme DAC | MIT Shotgun S1 | Pangea AC14SE MKII | Legend L600 | BlueSound Node 3 - Tubes add soul! -
They will last as long as you want them to. Just keep replacing drivers, crossovers, cabinet repair etc..
All speakers need something eventually, no matter how well you take care of them

The only issue I had with my 1946 Telefunken radio console, with 14 speakers and original tubes was a dirty pot....hmmmm.
