R50 musings

I'm giving my R50's to my daughter to use in her HT, so I hooked them up one last time to see how they sounded.

I bought these a couple of years ago, for about $200.00 shipped from Fry's, when I decided to upgrade my 6 year old cobbled together home theater.

I am still impressed at how good these speakers sound for what I paid for them.

With decent amplification 150WPc, these sounded closer in quality to my RTI8's than I remembered, certainly not on a par with the 8's, but very good.

Bang for the buck, what I paid for the R50s compared to what I paid for the RTI8's the 50's easily have the edge.

Looking back, buying these was a blessing and a curse.

A blessing because it reminded me how good audio can sound: Enjoyment.

A curse because it reminded how good audio can sound: Had to upgrade for even better sound and more enjoyment.(still upgrading:) )
