Sold my 9's awhile ago but I drove them with a 50 wpc Antique Sound Labs tube amp and they performed beautifully.

I drive mine with a Sunfire Signature 7 Cinema Grand @ 4 ohms = 800wpc, Maximum output current
120 amps peak to peak per channel,Maximum Output Voltage 57Vmrs. but I've always went with the notion that you can never have Too much power. LoL But then again this could be the reason that I have one of my 9's thats smoked.... Oh well... :)

That all depends on you and your listening habits. I had a pair of 7s running of ~60wpc and they performed great, being run full range to.

We run our 9's on our Sonance 5150 (5 channel) 200wpc and they sound great. Our Integra AVR is rated at 120wpc but they really opened up when we added the amps via pre-outs. This was during the period that we were using out 9's as mains. We brought home another pair of 9's for the back and that's when we decided to go with the 15's as our mains. The Carver (400wpc@4ohm) runs the 15's and the 9's (now in the back of the room) are still powered by the Sonance 5150. Our experience, and we are totally pleased with our set up, is that the LSi's like power. In addition, we've got a SVS sub and our HT set-up is outstanding as is our 2 channel listening. We couldn't be more pleased!!

depends on the current the amp is capable of not necessarly wattage.

Here is a quote from Shannon regarding his LSI 9's.

"Man I have no Idea. all I know is that the left speaker is not as defiant as the right. I don't know if it happened before I bought my Sunfire sig 7 amp or after. I have almost came "now" to the conclusion that it happened before when I was running all my LSI system off the Sony 4es receiver and it just wasn't able to handle the needs "power wise" at 4 ohms. The reason that i now come to that conclusion is that right now I'm running my new 9's that I bought last night for $500 "New" that they have performed Beautifully!!!!"

I'd say it's better to be safe than sorry!

True, you don't want them to cause the amp to clip and then smoke those tweets.

LSi9s are serious speakers. Serious speakers call for a serious amp.
