I'm debating on a few setups. I'm getting my new D3 here soon. I was going to do DB650's up front and DB690's in the back. I have to ask do MMC650's and MMC690's have to run off an amp? I'm sure they sound better off a 4 but do they HAVE to run off it to sound awesome. I know the db650 and db690 can run off deck power and still sound amazing. Please any help would be greatful.

The MMC's are better speakers and will sound better than the DB's regardless if theyre running off an amp or a head unit.

Also, ALL speakers will sound better with an amp. There is nothing better for really good sound than good clean power and lots of it!

I would run with the MMC's all the way. I found the tweeter on the DB's too bright for me.
