Was just there today at lunch to see what they have on special. Saw the RTi12s for $399 each. This prices last until Tuesday 6/5/07. I should mention there didn't appear to be many left in stock in the Sunnyvale, CA store today. So go get them!

    699- 300 instant savings=399
Typical Fry's ad. Sometimes it slips the dreaded rebate ** stars
    of death in there.

I was at the San Marcos store checking out the sales last night and belive I saw your Father-in-Law (he's about 5'9" or 10 greying hair in his fifties maybe early sixties) loading the 12's in a sedan (Camry?) , didn't look like they were going to fit. They are huge. I have the 10's and they are big for my room. Anyway, I hope they made it home safely.

right on.. that was most likely him... I think he has an acura sedan. He had to have his son come get the other one.. I forgot to mention the size to him.. A minor oversight. lol

Yup, an Acura. He didn't have the RTi12 kind of guy look, maybe the LSI9's on a 2 channel system look. It's a small world. Let us know how they sound for 399ea.

Take the $1400 and buy my Lsi15s 6 months old for $950. If you live within an 8Hr. driving radius of my house in 43081 I will drive them to you for free in their original packaging. Can you beat that deal? Pocket the $450 or do whatever . . .

When we got our 12's home from Circuit City, unboxed them just to find both grills were broken...Even they could'nt handle the size and weight of these big boys.

Fed Ex will try to pay for the costs of repairing the speakers before they just cut you a $1400. check.

    Good luck...

How did they break the feet...those guys are embedded in the styrofoam endcaps. Hold firm on settlement, if the powerports toast, there's probably damage to the interior bracing.

This thread is useless without pics! LOL!

Post the pics, and perhaps someone from Polk on here will comment that they are destroyed.

Can't get any better evidence for the shipping company than that if mama polk says they are toast.

Sad to see messed up RTI's

My first pair were completely demolished out of the box when I got them, and I got replacements that were perfect.

Fry's online does not have that sale, and since I am not in the Bay Area, I guess the rest of us are out of luck.

I just bought a pair of RT1 12s from a girl in Wisconsin. I got a decent price on them, about $900 for the pair vs. $1200 to $1600 everyplace else I looked. She had them packed by a UPS store which didn't do a real good job- plastic bags over the speaker, a single layer of bubble wrap over that and then the whole thing laid on a single layer of peanuts along with some soap bar sized styrofoam blocks on each end. The box had a printed depth of 8" so the top would only go down about half way and a tape wrap job a mummy would be proud of bound it all together. Both boxes were pretty beat up when they got here, corners crunched in, etc. One speaker was OK but the other has a broken grille and a thumb sized dent right on the top edge about half way down the side. There is a punture/tear right where the damage is possibly from falling over and hitting something. I have a claim in with UPS that is under review as of yesterday. At first they were going to come get it but gave me an option to take a bunch of photos of the box and the damage and email them in. I have a good enough camera I was able to comply. After hearing them I did not want to part with them! (they replaced a pair of JBL L 100s) I hope UPS will replace it with a new unit. It was insured for $900 but I guess I will have to wait and see. Polk sells a replacement cabinet for $400. Has anybody ever swapped the guts into a new cabinet? If so, how big a task is it? I have the ability and tools. Just wondering...

My PSW 1000 :) arrived today via Fed Ex Ground and after seeing the punctures and tears in the box I was expecting the worst, but no apparent physical damage. I plan to connect it Sunday so I'll see how well it survived.
