Hey gys I have a question for you.

I got this Nad reciever and I'm getting a HUM from my speakers when I'm watching the satilite. The problem is that the hum only comes on certain channels. Sounds weird I know but if I'm on say the space channel its ok, I turn to regular cable and get the hum.

Dvd and audio no hum.

think it could be my satilite receiver?

thanks for your help

Jim

You might have a ground loop problem. A ground loop isolator, isolation transformer, or power conditioner may help.

That was my first thought but I was under the impression that a ground loop would be constant, not with specific channels as Jim describes.

I think it depends on the quality of the signal the station(s) are broadcasting...I get it on some stations with my DirecTV receiver too...Most of the problems I have are programs like the local news...Sometimes CNN gives me a nasty buzz as well...

They hum when they don't know the words.

It could be a ground issue.

So the winner of this thread is SkyNut. I decided to take apart my whole system and move it to the otehr side of the room and what do you know the humming is gone. The accoustics in the room are better now too. Much happier now
