Ask the same question on the Klipsch forum. I am not a horn fan.

It all depends on your personal taste in sound. Some people prefer the sound of horns, to me they are fatiguing after a little while. If you had them hooked up to a tube amp they might be bearable. they are highly efficent and dont need a lot of amplification.

Im sure if you went to the klipsch forum they would say dump those polks lol.

Well, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all :D

Very true. They would slander us over there! I've had my share of horn speakers thru the years and, while they do some things well, they don't do what my ears like. I've had Forte's, LaScala's, Cornwalls, and a pair of Altec Valencia 846B's. It just took too much to get them to what made them come together. I might own another pair of horn speakers again but I would have to set them up right as far as the room goes and with the right amp/pre combo. That gets me back to why I like my Carver/Polk SDA setup so well. It just clicked for me.

I still have tons of respect for Paul W. Klipsch. He was a great innovator.

    I gotta quit this rambling....

I'm with the others. I tried out modern klipsch's a few years back and found the horns to be way too bright for me.. but this is clearly my own opinion. I've heard some of their vintage speakers however, and absolutely love the La Scalla's and the Forte's.

You will be very hard pressed to find faster speakers.

That said, if I were the one making the decision, my ears would push me to the SDAs with no hesitation.
Lovin that music year after year.

I have not had a lot of experience with horns other than lower end Klipsch and JBL's. The only horns I did enjoy were the AR 3's. I did not find them fatiguing.
