say a person was interested in refinishing speakers covered in the scuffed, tired looking vinyl typical of 20 year old speakers. can they be painted?
rather, i know they *can* be painted, but is there anything that will adhere properly to the vinyl? i forsee paint peeling off in big, ugly strips.
relaminating is way more effort than said person is willing to put into it. there are no real scratches, just light abrasions and sun discoloration, etc...
pardon me if this has been covered before--- i cant seem to get the search to function properly?

I would try using Krylon paint, which is formulated for plastic applications. It would probably be a good measure to give the vinyl a light sanding, to give the paint a better surface to adhere to. If you decide to re-laminate the speakers, try these web sites for a high quality vinyl. http://www.berlinwallpaper.com/dcfix/Woodgrain.htm

A heat gun will help with the removal of the old vinyl.
