Best place to get center channel

There are lots of threads about various centers and damn Polk has made a lot of them. I'm thinking of getting the Csi3 for the living room HT since that is pretty much the second HT system and should be a good match...I guess. Who generally has best buys on these with service if needed? I like C'field, but they are $179. Some of the ebay stores are less, but I'm not sure about buying from unauthorized dealer. Any thoughts? Can we talk about sellers here???

Most CSi 3 owners upgrade to the CSi 5!Marantz AV-7705 PrePro, Classé 5 channel 200wpc Amp, Oppo 103 BluRay, Rotel RCD-1072 CDP, Sony XBR-49X800E TV, Polk S60 Main Speakers, Polk ES30 Center Channel, Polk S15 Surround Speakers SVS SB12-NSD x2

jeeez...I stepped up to Denon 3802, then blue jean cables...and now you want me to get the high end cc? Pretty soon you'll want me to trade my Rotel cd changer in on a 1072. Still any thoughts on quality/cheap online seller?

Frys Outlet and J&R Music World has the CSi3 at the same price online. Check your local retailers. You'll be paying tax in the stores, versus shipping online. The upside with a store is the ability to quickly return a defect. Reputable online companies like Crutchfield also have an excellent customer satisfaction policy, but now your talking shipping and delays. Tough choice. I would probably go Crutchfield.Do you hear that buzzing noise?

I guess I was mostly curious about people's experience with some of the resellers who must be buying up liquidated stock or discontinued items. All the authorized dealers are selling for pretty much the same price on new items.
My local retailers are BB and CC and neither has much. -
The Denon 3802 should hold you for a while, it certainly has for me! & I love my BJC's.
I'm just telling you what I have noticed here on the board! If you don't want to be spending twice, just bite the bullet & get the CSI 5.:eek:NeilGabriel wrote: »jeeez...I stepped up to Denon 3802, then blue jean cables...and now you want me to get the high end cc? I agree here, it is ultimately cheaper to get that now than to try to sell the 3 when you aren't satisfied with it, then go spend more on the 5.... -
well....I can't disagree with the idea of buying once and getting what really pleases...so often we (I) think I'll just settle for MOR and then wish I had made the extra step and gotten what I really wanted....I think her name was....oh, that's another matter altogether....still wondering about experience with the online discount sellers (as in the ebay store types). They have good ratings, but almost everyone on ebay does since the hold the buyer hostage with their ratings. (IMHO).

Alright...
Do you like Polk Audio?
*Shake your head Yes*
Does Polk Audio make good speakers?
*Shake your head Yes*
Do you want Polk Audio to continue to be around tommorow?
*Shake your head yes*
Ok.. since you shaked your head yes to all of those questions... man up - go to your local retailer and buy that dang center channel NEW and represent dude.
You get the 5 year warranty, awesome customer service, you get the stores support --- I'll give customers killer deals if they keep coming back or I pretty much see them all the time. Make a friend with a local salesman or something ---- resellers online just mean one thing, you don't get the warranty and you don't know WTF you are getting.- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. There are people on this very board who cannot feed their children, cannot make their car payment, cannot get a haircut....all because they bought full price retail. My option appears to be to go to Nebraska Furniture...which I think discontinued Polk....I like the idea of trickle down. You buy it, keep Polk afloat, and then sell to me when you are decide to buy Tyler...now, where's the damn smiley face?

If you cant feed your children, cant make your car payment and cant get a haircut...
You shouldnt be buying audio equipment.
If you are willing to buy from a "reseller" to save 50 bucks or w/e - go for it. But when you receive it and its damaged and the reseller says "TOUGH" or Polk says $$$$$$$$$ to fix - don't PM me saying "Hey man! You were right!"
I've owned alot of Polk products my friend. RT5, RT25i, RT35i, CS245i, RTi70, RT55 - RT25i, CS245i, RTi70 were all purchased new.
Crutchfield is an AUTHORIZED online retailer...
With a host of many others.- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
I obviously agree with Styler. There are inherent risks with buying non-authorized, and this is reflected in the price from Grey-Market vendors online to used eBay equipment.
Roll the dice if your a risk taker. I've done alright going non-authorized, but I've picked my fights. I bought my entire LSi lineup from Tweeter; I got a fair price and piece of mind. You can't put a price tag on piece of mind.Do you hear that buzzing noise? -

Hey....don't hang me. I wasn't advocating anything. I started this thread asking for some opinions. The poverty schtick was a joke. I think I have enough money to buy what I need (maybe not what I want). -

That is why I walked to my Rotel dealer and bought a new 1075 instead of buying something out of the box but just like new.
Thanks for the thoughts on this. -
I have listen to CSi5 and I like the Monitor 5 better as a center. The CSi5 is nice.engtaz
I love how music can brighten up a bad day. -
This is the living room. The wife makes the call on aesthetics.

PM olkiepolkie on this board. He's an authorized dealer for Polk, etc and might be able to ship the center to you. Zach lives close to me, so I just met up with him when I purchased all my Polks, etc from him. He's a good guy to deal with and will give you excellent service
